Belarus is developing a new tactical missile with a range of 280 kilometers. It became known that the "Precision Electromechanics Plant" (Dzerzhinsk) is working on the creation of a new tactical missile with a range of 280 kilometers. According to official data, the missile has a warhead weighing 480 kg compared to 150 kg in a standard 300 mm rocket.
The Polonaise system was developed in Belarus and is intended to replace the Uragan MLRS (caliber 220 mm) and Smerch (300 mm). It is likely that the system was created with technical assistance from China. MLRS is designed to defeat enemy troops in the open field and in shelters, armored and non-armored vehicles, artillery, missile systems and air defense systems, aviation on airfields.
