In Russia, a 120-mm self-propelled mortar based on the armored car Tiger
At the training ground of the Research Institute "Geodesy" in Krasnoarmeysk, Moscow region, for the first time a sample of the newest 120-mm self-propelled mortar based on the chassis of the armored car Tiger was publicly presented.
It is reported that during the scientific and technical forum "Day of Advanced Technologies of Law Enforcement Agencies" a 120-mm self-propelled mortar was demonstrated in the closed part of the exposition of the forum on the basis of the armored vehicle "Tigris-M"
The new mortar complex is a unified set of 120-mm mortar weapons of increased range of fire with full automation of the preparation and conduct of fire, including high-precision ammunition.
A simplified remote-controlled mortar unit with hydropneumatic bearings is placed on light Tigris-type chassis.
It is reported that this development was already presented last year to a number of foreign delegations in time form "Army 2016". The military representatives of Iraq and Egypt have already expressed their interest in a new mortar self-propelled vehicle based on the Tiger armored vehicle.
